International Young Leaders Conference 2019: Youth Empowerment and Inclusion in Achieving Sustainable Development Goals

You may have heard about Sustainable Development Goals but perhaps you are still wondering about what these goals are. Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) is a collection of 17 global goals set by the United Nations in 2015 to fulfill the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. Among the goals include good health and well-being, quality education, and disposable consumption and production. So, have you have ever wondered: 

  1. How you can relate SDG to add value to your lives 
  2. How youths can contribute to the aspiration of building a better world with any of the goals
  3. How we can achieve the goals 
  4. Why these goals are important to mankind 

 Or you have papers and/or projects that are relevant to SDG, look no further as you are invited to join the following two-day conference as participant and/or presenter:

25 October 2019, Friday: 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. 
26 October 2019, Saturday: 9.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m.

Stand Up for the Change

Are you a visionary student who would like to initiate an SDG project?

This is the right place for you! UTAR Sustainable Development Club is organizing an SDGs Competition with the theme of “Stand Up for the Change”. On-going project or completed projects within year 2016-2019 are qualified to participate in this competition. 

Stand a chance to be invited to the pitching session during a two-day conference by submitting your project overview! A total cash prize of RM1100 is also available to be won!

Pertandingan Video Kreatif "Hentikan! Stop It!" Sempena Kempen Hentikan Keganasan dan Gangguan Seksual 2019

Kementerian Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga dan Masyarakat (KPWKM) through Jabatan Pembangunan Wanita (JPW) invites UTAR students to participate in the following competition: 

Competition: Pertandingan Video Kreatif "Hentikan! Stop It!" Sempena Kempen Hentikan Keganasan dan Gangguan Seksual 2019 
Organiser: Kementerian Pembangunan Wanita, Keluarga dan Masyarakat (KPWKM) through Jabatan Pembangunan Wanita (JPW) 
Submission: Limit to 5 videos per university (either individual or group) 
Deadline: 5 October 2019, 12 noon (video must be uploaded to Google drive and email the link to hentikanstopit@gmail.com)

Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED)

Dear UTAR Students,


The Canada-ASEAN Scholarships and Educational Exchanges for Development (SEED) will provide post-secondary students and mid-career professionals from Southeast Asian nationalities with the opportunity to apply for short-term studies or research in Canada (up to 8 months, or two semesters) in fields that contribute towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The scholarship values range from CAD $10,200 to CAD $15,900 (approximately RM31,900 to RM49,900) depending on education level and method of study.
